Julie Bertin, can you introduce yourself in a few words?
I’m 28, I’m from Montpellier, and I took part in two reality TV shows, ‘10 Couples Parfaits’ and ‘La Villa des Cœurs Brisés’. Then I followed the usual path for reality TV people: I’m on social media, and close to 300,000 fans follow me on Instagram… I share my travels, I talk about fashion, beauty products… https://www.instagram.com/juliebrtn_off
Why did you choose Turkey?
My friend Simo, whom many of my fans also know, went to Istanbul with Body Expert to have dental veneers fitted. When I saw the result, I was genuinely blown away! He told me about the treatment, how it all went, and I knew I could trust him, he was sincere. He convinced me, so I decided to go with Body Expert too. And since I don’t speak a word of English, using a medical tourism agency seemed the obvious choice.
Did your trip go smoothly, in spite of the Covid-19 hygiene measures?
Arriving in Istanbul was a shock for me, in the good sense of the word: I found everybody extremely disciplined, people wear masks everywhere, they take your temperature, they send you through disinfection gates, it’s all really sophisticated and very reassuring, far more so than in France. Once there, everything was really well organised, a great hotel, a French-speaking assistant with me the whole time, in fact I was surrounded by French speakers… And I had a wonderful programme: I had time between the various stages of the dental work, for taking the impressions, for the fittings, for choosing the shade of the veneers… So I was able to discover Istanbul. As well as the main monuments such as Topkapi, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, I had free time to wander around the fashionable neighbourhoods and to take a cruise along the Bosphorus. I walked around Cihangir and Ortaköy a lot, I went through all the little designer boutiques, I visited art galleries, the trendy bars… I found Istanbul really artistic, dynamic, creative! Nothing like the preconceived ideas people can have about Turkey. And the food was incredible. We ate in some fabulous fish restaurants on the shores of the Bosphorus…
How did your treatment go?
Everything was really well organised, and above all they gave me time to make up my mind, which was very important. And the result is brilliant, well beyond my expectations: I feel as though I was born with my veneers! I also had two aesthetic treatments, a Carbon Peel and Jawline Contouring, techniques that are well known in the United States but still very little used in France, or very expensive there… It goes to show that in Istanbul they are at the cutting edge in this field, they use the latest technology available and they are extremely professional. And all of it for far less than in France! I also had a PRP treatment for my hair: my hair is very fine, and this treatment, which involves injecting enriched blood plasma into the scalp, strengthens the roots and boosts hair growth. It does sting a little, mind you…
Are you planning to come back?
I hope so, this summer even! But this time for a holiday: beyond the aesthetic and dental treatment with Body Expert, I really fell in love with Istanbul and Turkey. Next time, I want to discover the south of the country, the beaches along the Mediterranean coast.
