• Keep up the lymphatic drainage sessions that are often recommended to speed up recovery.

What results can you expect?

The first effects start to show as soon as the swelling goes down. The skin firms up around the sixth week, and the final result is best judged between 3 and 6 months. The profile then looks sharper, the jaw better defined and the face younger.

Liposuction or non-surgical treatments?

Faced with a double chin, other options exist without surgery:

• Cryolipolysis, which destroys the fat with cold.
• Focused ultrasound, which is used to tighten the deeper tissues of the neck.
• Injections meant to dissolve the fat locally.

They suit mild excess, but their limits are real: results that are often partial, several sessions needed and a less lasting effect. When the fat is well established, liposuction keeps the edge: in a single procedure, it removes the targeted cells for good and redraws the contour to last.
