What are the steps of the FUE Saphir hair transplant?
The FUE Saphir hair transplant is painless and takes place in several steps:
- Preparation of the donor area: to extract and select the grafts from the donor area, the head must first be shaved. The donor area is also anesthetized to ensure the patient’s comfort during the entire procedure.
- Follicular Unit Extraction: follicular unit extraction is performed with hollow needles ranging from 0.7 to 1 mm in diameter. The grafts are composed of one to four hairs. Once harvested, they are placed in a liquid solution to preserve their vitality while they are implanted. The grafts are checked and sorted before proceeding to the next step.
- Hair transplantation: The last step consists of implanting the grafts. Hair follicles are carefully transplanted one by one in each incision with a micro forceps over several millimeters in depth, adapting to the recipient area. In this technique, the incisions are made with sapphire blades. Sapphire is a non-metallic gem, so it cannot give rise to metal allergic reaction.
