Vaser Liposuction in Turkey, for a perfect shape

Lecture : 6 min. par Antoine Bodyexpert.online

Liposuction, also called lipo-selection, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that aims to remove excess fat cells from certain parts of the body, from the belly to the buttock, from the arms to the thighs… It is currently the most practiced cosmetic surgery procedure in the world, much more than rhinoplasty or breast augmentation.

What is liposuction?

Liposuction, also known as “lipo,” is a fat removal process achieved through plastic surgery. It’s the most common cosmetic surgery in the United States. Patients need to be under anaesthesia during this procedure. You can opt for full-body 360 liposuction or partial for areas like the back, arms, hips, legs, chin etc. Depending on the technique used, the entire procedure can take from one to two hours.

But liposuction is not a miracle recipe for getting back in shape. It is the complement, or the final step, of a diet and/or sports activity that has led to weight loss. It is used to eliminate the last pockets of fat that resist a healthy diet and regular physical activity. Before performing liposuction, cosmetic surgeons consider that the patient shall be as close as possible to his ideal weight. Liposuction is not recommended for overweight people, nor for those under 18 years of age, for reasons of hormonal balance and anatomical growth.

The benefits of liposuction, or lipoaspiration, are numerous : when the procedure is benign, it is performed on an outpatient basis, and lasts between 20 minutes and one hour in most cases. Convalescence is quick (between 48 hours and 2 weeks), the results are immediately visible and above all, definitive. Simple and fast, it can be performed in addition to other cosmetic surgery procedures. Liposuction in Turkey is roughly 60% less expensive than in France. You will regain your shape in the blink of an eye.

Liposculpture, the craftmanship of a plastic surgeon

Invented more than 40 years ago by a french plastic surgeon, liposuction is a proven surgical technique with predictable results that can be implemented in 3D computer images. Thanks to the evolution of medical technology, helping to restore a harmonious silhouette has never been so easy. This search for ideal shapes, which aesthetic surgeons with an artistic spirit call liposculpture, consists notably in combining liposuction with other surgical procedures, such as lipofilling. The recovered fat, the perfect cast for a plastic surgeon, is reinjected into other parts of the body. It can help breast augmentation without prosthesis, fill the hollow of the cello above the riding breeches, or add curves to flat buttocks – the famous Brazilian Butt Lift. But beware of fashion effects : liposuction is like a tattoo. It’s forever.

Lipo Techniques

With liposuction in Turkey, there are mainly three types of fat removal techniques:

Traditional

Performed by removing fat with fine cannulas inserted under the skin through tiny incisions, traditional liposuction is preferable when the total body fat needs to be removed. It’s also a less expensive procedure compared to others.

VASER Liposuction

This is a quicker technique where targeted fatty tissue is made liquid by ultrasound waves. It’s a more natural lipo technique that removes fat.

VASER High Definition (Hi-Def) Liposuction

This procedure employs ultrasound waves along with resonance to sculpt certain areas while removing fat. This method is ideal for belly fat removal and definition, especially for men who desire six-packs.

FAQ about liposuction

When can I have a liposuction ?

Liposuction can be performed after you have reached your ideal weight. Liposuction will remove fat that has resisted diet and/or regular exercise. It is not recommended for patients under 18 years of age who have not yet achieved hormonal and anatomical balance.

What are the risks of liposuction ?

The risks of liposuction are extremely low, even with general anesthesia. It is recommended that you stop smoking at least one month before the liposuction, as smoking compromises proper healing. If medical background includes phlebitis, pulmonary embolism or any serious illness (diabetes, hypertension…), liposuction operations are contraindicated.

What is the difference between vaser liposuction and traditional liposuction ?

The difference between vaser liposuction and conventional liposuction, or liposuction, is the use of ultrasound cannulas, which liquefy the fatty deposits and allow for better suctioning of the fat cells. This technique reduces bruising on the epidermis and facilitates suturing.

How to tighten the skin after a liposuction ?

Tightening the skin after liposuction with an abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck, is an operation that can be performed at the same time. The nature of the skin and the age of the patient determine the cases of significant skin slackening, especially in the abdomen. This possibility will be discussed beforehand with your surgeon.

What is the price of a liposuction ?

The price of a liposuction varies according to the surgical procedures performed (extent of the areas to be treated, volume of fat to be extracted, type of anesthesia…), the plastic surgeon’s fees and the clinic costs. An initial consultation with a specialist allows for an individualized estimate to be drawn up and compared with the prices charged in Istanbul, Turkey. Liposuction is not covered by healthcare or mutual insurance companies. In UK, a liposuction might cost between 2000 and 8000£. In Turkey, with Body Expert, liposuction ranges from 1000 to 2900€, Vaser liposuction between 1500 and 4000€, from1500 to 2750€ for an abdominoplasty, and between 500 and 1000€ for a BBL (Brazilian But Lift), in addition to liposuction.

How is the liposuction operation performed ?

The liposuction operation lasts between 30 minutes and 3 hours, under general or local anesthesia. The plastic surgeon makes micro-incisions in the skin of the affected areas, especially in the fold areas where the scars will be invisible. He then introduces foam cannulas, perforated at the end with small holes and connected to a closed circuit under negative pressure, which suck out the fat. The incisions are then sutured and compressed with an elastic fabric compression garment or elastic bands to compress the detached areas and limit hematoma. The restraints will be removed after 48 hours to 4 weeks, depending on the size of the area, the amount of fat removed and the quality of the skin.

Is liposuction of the abdomen painful ?

Liposuction of the abdomen is rarely painful, and can be relieved by painkillers. The treated areas are swollen with edema and bruising, which will disappear after 10 to 20 days. Some patients may be tired for the next few days, especially when a significant amount of fat has been removed. It is recommended to wear a support garment for the following weeks. Work can be resumed after a few days of rest, and sports after three weeks to a month.

How long does it take to see the results of a liposuction ?

The results of a liposuction can be seen after two to three weeks, when the swelling has subsided. But it takes 3 to 6 months to appreciate the final results. To help the skin retract more, it is recommended to adopt a healthy diet and to exercise regularly. The results of a liposuction have a very high rate of success among operated patients.
